Interesting. Did you find the kanji anywhere? I did a fairly extensive search but couldn't see anything appropriate at all, other than the general category! Please let us know if you find it - it may be helpful for somebody else one day.

「バーク船」 may be more suitable and sound more official.

Both 'barques' and (your other question) 'brigs' are types of 横帆船, according to:

横帆船 : Ship, Barque, Barquentine, Brig, Brigantine等の帆船をいう。
