Good morning,
is anybody here using Modern MT with MemoQ 9.9?
How does it perform, if any?
Do you have suggestions for other MTs that integrate with MemoQ 9.9, DeepL exluded, obviously?
I had a client who recently specifically asked to me open a ModernMT account for a project. If you connect an existing TMX to it, it apparently uses the TMX to help with it generate its suggested translations, and the client had a large TMX they wanted me to be consistent with.
Perhaps you already know that's how it works![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

Anyway, I set up an account (free for a month, but you can suspend this free trial period, I think I have a couple of days remaining even now). I use memoQ 9.6 at the moment. It worked OK with memoQ, and I had no prior experience of connecting MT engines to memoQ, although I seem to recall there was one part of the instructions that wasn't particularly clear. But I figured it out somehow![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif) ▲ Collapse | | | WolfgangS France Local time: 10:17 Member (2007) Inggris menyang Jerman + ... TOPIC STARTER

This is exactly the kind of answer I was expecting.
No, I have no idea how Modern MT works, but I think I will know very soon.
Thank you so much. | | | Jorge Payan United States Local time: 04:17 Member (2002) Jerman menyang Spanyol + ...
I subscribed to ModernMT three years ago and have used it with memoQ (9, 10, 11) and RWS Studio (2021, 2024).
Working on MemoQ 9.x versions has been a positive experience. However, ModernMT's handling and placement of tags in memoQ is not that efficient compared to RWS Studio; some additional tweaking is always needed, especially when tag pairs cross the boundaries of other tag pairs

I'm quite aware of the problem involving nested tags, especially in Studio. And that's why I'm no great fan of Studio.
I shall see.
What's important for me in this context is that Modern MT actually works with MemoQ v9.
