"In Finland, the process is moving even faster. "The translator has to agree, sight unseen, to turn in the finished copy in three weeks, by October 18, in time for release for Christmas sales. That's 23 pages of polished final text every day for 21 days – without time to read the book beforehand!" Oh JK, why do you hate translators so? | | | JaneD Sweden Local time: 16:49 Member (2009) Swedish to English + ... Is it her or her agents? | Aug 2, 2012 |
Surely the dratted woman can't possibly require any more money, so I do wonder whether the whole thing isn't just being badly handled by her agents?

Obviously, this is handled by the agent, publisher etc., but JKR herself has ultimate control. She can always say "if you keep this up I'm switching agents/publishers". Well, unless she signed for ever and ever back in the day when it all started, which seems unlikely. She is responsible for all the grotesque and abhorrent money-grabbing and bullying that is done on her behalf, such as this and this.

Ms Rowling had originally supported the Lexicon website, but she said there was a difference between fans publishing information for free on the internet, and selling it in the form of a book. Yes, because she's the only one allowed to do that! The author has always denied the case was about money....She had been planning to write her own definitive encyclopaedia Ah, that clarifies things greatly! I understand you JK *wink wink*. However, she told the court in April she is not sure if she has "the will or the heart" to do it after all. So JK, you've just wasted a hell of a lot of court time/money/effort and caused a great deal of anguish and upset for what? Your own amusement?....surely not??? Sigh, it's amazing what money does to a person.
