Go to View tab > Options group and select a Tag Display Mode. Select one of the following: No Tag Text to display tags without any text on them. Partial Tag Text to display tags with partial text on them. Place the cursor over a tag to display the full tag content in a tooltip. Full Tag Text to display tag text in full. This option may be useful when interpreting generic tags, such as those used to represent formatting instructions in PowerPoint, Excel and converted FrameMaker or Interleaf documents. Tag ID to display the tag ID rather than tag text. Tag ID numbers are unique identifiers which are automatically assigned to each tag pair and placeholder tag in the document. This option also displays (at the top of Editor window) the name of the filter that was used when opening this document.

Select File > Options. The Options dialog box is displayed. Select Editor from the navigation tree. The Editor settings are displayed on the right. Tag display is controlled from the Formatting display style drop-down list. This box appears under Side-by-side Editor. If you want to display tags, select Show all formatting and tags. If you want to remove tags, select Show formatting but hide recognized formatting tags. Click OK to save the settings and close the Options dialog box. Alternative: Instead of using the steps through the Options menu, while translating a document in the Editor view follow the steps: Go to View tab > Options group Click on Toggle formatting tag display to display or not display the formatting tags.
