Not only sdlxliff Aug 22, 2023

For the next time:

Both suggested alternatives can open packages.

CafeTran has the advantage that it can directly edit sdlxliff.

but sdlppx packages, too. The same applies for MemoQ.

Good idea Aug 22, 2023

It seems it ruined the files on the level of Trados, not in the folders. I found all my other files in the folder. Something weird happened but I'm glad it's over.

Import and conversion Aug 22, 2023

I only have memoQ 2015 so I cannot check with the latest version.

But 2015 had to import and thus convert Trados files.

CafeTran Espresso doesn't need to convert: it directly opens the sdlxliff. It's an XLIFF editor (just like omegaT).

But hat I wanted to point out is that CT processes sdlppx files, too, so no need to unzip the sdlppx file to extract the sdlxliff file, just drop the sdlppx file on the dashboard of CT and off you go. But I'm sure you know all this.
MemoQ 9.x which is the last version I own processes sdlppx packages like a charm, too.
And Lingua SB (isn't it Sandra?) mentioned a Trados package = sdlppx.

Glad you fixed it Aug 22, 2023

Solved!

But take notice that you can actually choose another tool in your case, it can be either MemoQ or Cafetran and even Wordfast Pro 8 processes sdlppx files but in this case the cleaned final file is an sdlxliff file which is also good.
