Hi, all,

The ProZ.com team has been made aware of a scammer or group of scammers pretending to represent "LanguageWire" in order to run pay-to-work scam.

The impersonators are using Upwork, WhatsApp and Telegram, and asking the service providers to pay a fee, deposit or guarantee in order to get assigned a project or receive payment for a completed job.

The real LanguageWire:
- does not contact linguists via Telegram, Upwork or WhatsApp

The ProZ.com team has been made aware of a scammer or group of scammers pretending to represent "LanguageWire" in order to run pay-to-work scam.

The impersonators are using Upwork, WhatsApp and Telegram, and asking the service providers to pay a fee, deposit or guarantee in order to get assigned a project or receive payment for a completed job.

The real LanguageWire:
- does not contact linguists via Telegram, Upwork or WhatsApp
- will never ask to pay a fee, deposit or any type of amount in order to get paid for a job in return
- works exclusively with vendors who are registered on their platform: agito.languagewire.com
- never sends their clients content outside this platform
- does not use PayPal to pay vendors

Remember that, as a general rule, no legitimate client will ask you to make a payment, deposit or transfer of any kind in order to be assigned a project or to receive the payment for a project you have completed.
