does anyone know what the message "This job has been squashed by a moderator or admin" means, that appears when clicking on the button to get more information about the job?
Thanks in advance.

Hi SteBe,
I take it you're not referring to a job posted by yourself (if you post a job without being logged in to the system, and try to access it without the password provided by the system, you will see the same message).

A team of volunteer moderators keep an eye on jobs and the Blue Board. Regarding jobs, we try to make sure that all jobs posted are in line with applicable site rules. Jobs may also be removed if an outsourcer who has been banned from posting jobs (see the Termination Policy for details) tries to circumvent a ban.

If you have a specific reason to inquire why a particular job was removed (e.g. if you had already submitted a quote), please submit a Support Request or contact one of the Jobs moderators.

Best regards,
Ralf

It means right that Feb 1, 2008

what it says- that the job has been squashed. This happens if the job doesn't comply with Job Posting Rules:
http://www.proz.com/?sp=siterules&mode=show&category=jobs_posting

One exception when you get this message is when you try to access unvetted job posted by yourself, but don't use the correct link containing password- that is sent to you in the very first confirmation message when you post a job on ProZ.com.

HTH,

Uldis

It means just that. Something was wrong, inappropriate, unsuitable etc. and the job was removed.

If this problem occured yesterday Feb 2, 2008

than it might be caused by some technical problems with one of the servers that got desynchronized; this caused various strange problems during a few hours.
