There’s something very wrong with Proz today, I’ve seen a few Kudoz questions disappear suddenly and the same happened with today’s Quick Poll: it was quickly replaced by yesterday’s Quick Poll after being on the air for a few minutes. I've sent a ticket to Proz staff.

In the forum discussions sometimes icons don't appear at the bottom of messages, and some answers don't show up.

I keep seeing the most basic questions in Kudoz Help, terms that can be found very easily in a dictionary.
I really cannot understand it...

Anybody can be a translator on here. Plenty of jobs to bid on.

not everyone who knows a foreign language can be a translator.
A good translator should be characterized by a high level of language skills.
It is not only about the excellent use of a foreign language, which is important, of course, but also very important is showing competence in their mother tongue.
It is obvious that people who ask that kind of simple questions do not have the gift for a foreign language or master their native language either.
Also, being a translator requires very hard work, dedication, and passion.
As for the bidding, many jobs posted here are restricted and not everyone can have access to those. Also, clients/agencies know well how to select or sort their translators.
(I am sorry, I should stick to the topic, I know!)
