Hi, I have my Proz search page bookmarked with default setting 'Any source language' to English (and back) to save me having to switch the source language between French, Dutch & Flemish. You know it makes sense... I have all the different search options (KOG, glossaries, etc.) and all subject categories ticked. But for ages I've noticed that I often get zero results. By chance I found that if you change the source language to the specific language you want, then results start showing up. Only this morning I ended up with egg on my face when I asked a question based on zero 'any source language' results, only to find something similar had already been asked, which showed up in the results when I searched again, specifying French as the source language. This is a very annoying bug. Is there anyone looking at this problem?

Also how fuzzy is the recognition of similar questions before you get a 'a similar question has already been asked' warning upon posting? My question this morning was about 'PV de recette final' and the existing KOG entry was for 'PV de recette'. Pretty close, huh? Yet no warning given when I posted.

Thanks,
Moira

This bug should now be fixed. Dec 9, 2009

This bug should now be fixed. It looks like it occurs when searching from one language to "Any language" (or vice versa), and also having the "Search reverse language pair" option selected.

I also added a new option to search all of the languages listed in your profile and all of the reverse pairs. It sounds like this is what you have been trying to achieve.

Thanks again for posting.
