After almost two years of consultation, research, debate and revision, the new Code of Ethics, incorporating a new Code of Conduct, was released to the public in February 2013.

The Code is a very important tool that guides the practice of interpreting and translation. The new version contains a number of significant changes and additions designed to reflect AUSIT’s drive to raise standards and improve the level of language service delivery in a changing professional environment.

Christian Schmidt, one of the authors of the Code of Ethics and an Adelaide-based translator and interpreter will present and discuss what it means for the industry. The presentation will be followed by an open question and answer period
