时兴自造词?

近日从图书馆借来余光中精选集,看到其中一篇文章中提到:
我迷上了地理,尤其是地图,而画地图的功课简直成了赏心乐事。不久我便成为班上公认的「地图精」(mapamaniaco),有同学交不出地图作业,就来求救于我。

让人好奇的是,为何这两个英文单词我在英文词典上都查不到,难道是余老先生自造的?应该不是排版出现的typo吧?!

英文中 -mania 是一个后缀,意思是…迷,我猜测 amaniaco 可能与此有关。

一般應該是Gaelic吧。

I think he meant "Gaelic".

Also the coined word "mapomaniac" probably should have been spelled as such if the intention was to coin a term in English(not Italian or other Latin languages).

余老先生的mapamaniaco显然是个自造词,不过老实话,就构词而言,还不如Mapomaniac来得“正宗”^_^
