Hi everyone,

Could you please help me translate the following chinese sentence (click on the thumbnail for the full image) into english? i'd do it myself with google, but unfortunately I only have it as a picture

It uses the legend of the cowherd and the weaver girl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Weaver_Girl_and_the_Cowherd) to talk about the nature of true love, and the last two lines say that true love is a love which can withstand long separation, and is better than the vulgar hedonism of being together all the time.

Sounds like some nasty puritanical rubbish to me, but there's a lot of that kind of thing floating around in poetry. ▲ Collapse
