Source text - Spanish Cebada (Hordeum vulgare). Planta perteneciente a la familia de las Gramíneas, parecida al trigo, con cañas de algo más de 0.60 m, espigas prolongadas y flexibles. Sirve de alimento a diversos animales. Los granos de cebada contienen almidón recubierto de proteína; también contienen algo de grasa, y las paredes celulares, delgadas, contienen hemicelulosa y β-glucanos estos últimos representan ente el 3-7% del grano de cebada. | Translation - English Barley (Hordeum vulgare). Plant belonging to the family of grasses, similar to wheat, with reeds just over 0.60 m, having long and flexible ears. This plant serves as food for various animals. Barley grains contain protein-coated starch; they also contain some fat, and the thin cellular walls contain β-glucans and hemicellulose.
