Au vu de ce qui précède, j'ai l'impression que l'intervenant veut dire que le côté animation est plus que secondaire ds les Simpson, qu'elle est réduite à son strict minimum, qu'elle est là pour servir l'histoire ou le gag et pour rien d'autre.

I'm not at all clear what 'Lauren' means by 'default' here... I don't somehow think the usual translation of 'par défaut' would fit, but I can't really work out what the intended meaning behind it is. In particular, I don't understand if this 'default' is being applied as a kind of intensifier to 'animation acting' (i.e. as it usually is), or is it in fact being contrasted with it, as being the alternative type of acting used in 'The Simpsons'? Knowing that would undoubtedly make it easier to figure out!

Je lis avec attention vos remarques. Peut-être avez-vous raison, mais, peut-on parler d'interpretation lorsqu'il s'agit d'un dessin animé? Je ne suis pas sûre...
C'est comme ça que je l'interpète, faisant référence à l'action dans le dessin animé dont elle est en général l'aspect le plus important.
