Hi everyone! I'm new to proz and I was hoping to get some advice about translating Chinese, Japanese and Korean to English. I graduated from college in Boston in 2016. I studied Chinese, Japanese and Korean and would say I'm upper intermediate in Chinese and Japanese and beginner in Korean. I'm currently in China teaching English and studying Chinese intensively and studying Japanese and Korean with private teachers on the side. I am looking to attend grad school for translating but I have no idea what I'm doing. How do I establish myself after grad school? What if I want to Freelance? What is the job market like in Chinese? Japanese? Korean? What fields should I pursue? How can I set myself apart and make myself more marketable? Which language makes more money? What if I wanted to work at the UN? Sorry about all the questions, but I'm TOTALLY lost. Any advice would be very much appreciated! ▲ Collapse
