Dear colleagues,

I have BrowniZ points to give away so whoever wants them, they're up for grabs.

Cheers.

Dear Moderator,

I have no idea how the transaction works but please divide my points between these first three colleagues that answered.

How it works Jul 5, 2007

Hi Susy,
This is how it works. I think one of the key words is "respected colleagues," i.e. colleagues whose contributions to ProZ.com you have come to respect. One problem is that browniz can only be given to non-members and many non-members are so new to the site that we often haven't had the opportunity to evaluate their contributions.

This page allows you to invite respected colleagues to become full paying members of ProZ.com. It allows you to donate 4000 of your browniz points, which your colleague can use to obtain a 25% discount on membership.

If your colleague does not use the browniz points to buy membership within one week, the browniz will revert back to you.

Only ProZ.com members may issue these invitations. Invitations may be sent to up to 5 colleagues. The recipients must not yet be site members, and they must currently have fewer than 4000 browniz points.

Difficult to know whether you're being pushy if you offer the points, isn't it?

As a result of reading this thread, I've just had a brief browse to see which askers whom I often collaborate with are not actually paid-up members, and whom I also feel OK about offering the points to. In fact only one name came up that I would feel comfortable contacting (and I have done so - now waiting to find out if I have offended the potential recipient).

In fact only one name came up that I would feel comfortable contacting (and I have done so - now waiting to find out if I have offended the potential recipient).

I also don't particularly want to feel I'm pushing the site (because in effect we are contributing to the site being able to make a special offer for new members, aren't we?): however much I like something I've never been much of an evangelist.

However, from now on I'll pay more attention to the colleagues I habitually "talk" to over translation questions, and try to spot deserving causes!

But it would be rather nice if there was some way of flagging yourself as being in the market for receiving points... A little cap on the pavement symbol?!?

I would like to get Browniz points... Aug 13, 2007

Hello,

I would like to get Browniz. If you could give me some.I only have 215 right now. Do you know how many points you need to get a discount for a Proz.com full membership for one year?

Thank you.
