The disctionary lists only "material" as a possibility, but this seems to be misleading, because "material" can be construed as "tkanka," which, while in this case makes grammatical sense, is completely misleading!
I was playing around with "shell," but I could quite get that to flow with the rest of the wording.
I've been looking at this too long! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

'Tworzywo' could mean just 'material', or something synthetic. This definition suggests that it's not a natural material like leather, so perhaps 'synthetic material' could be a better option.

"Material" doesn't work, because it suggests FABRIC, which it clearly isn't. As this is a descriptive text, there needs to be a rather clear differentiation here. So, as generic as the source is, and lacking photos or further explanations, I thought it safe to go with "synthetic material." It's not quite as fluid as I would have liked, but it's the safest bet. Oh well.
Leff, I toyed around with "plastic," but it doesn't sound attractive to the reader. Like the last few questions, they are trinkets, and the they need to sound alluring. (like "genuine faux leather!!!")

Here 'tworzywo' means 'tworzywo sztuczne', I think, which is just 'plastic' in English.

However, if you'd like to follow the "shell" path and try to avoid the possible "woven" connotation of "material", then, in my opinion, "case" is the best choice.
Just about everything can have a case: durable, resilient, tough.
