The total discharge, Q (units of volume per time, e.g., m3/s) is equal to the product of the intrinsic permeability of the medium, k (m2), the cross-sectional area to flow, A (units of area, e.g., m2), and the total pressure drop (Pb - Pa), (Pascals), all divided by the viscosity, μ (Pa·s) and the length over which the pressure drop is taking place (L).

Thank you, Michał. You may very well be right. The way I see it, fluid flows through a cross-section whose cross-sectional area (a quantity with a number) is X. Greetings.

myślę o słowie "przekrój" - żadne z klasycznych znaczeń tutaj nie pasuje - wyobrażamy sobie, że woda płynie przez glebę jak przez rurę?
Limitation of the available cross-section for the flow of the continuous fluid increases the viscous resistance to such flow and it was argued that only a small...

Normally, one would expect a number or an equation after "area." It all depends on the accompanying context.
