Buenos días. Quisiera saber si es posible traducir "booster sample" como "sobremuestra". Es decir, si "booster sample" y "oversample" designan la misma cosa. Contexto: carátula de una encuesta donde hay que tildar si el cuestionario corresponde a un "random sample" o a un "booster sample". Muchas gracias!

A booster sample allows you to focus on a small subgroup that wouldn't normally be adequately represented in a main survey, without the expense of increasing the sample size for all of the main survey
For instance in a natural sample of 1000 all adults you may only achieve 50 interviews with single mothers as an example. If this is important to your business, you need a bigger sample to understand this group better. But rather than double the whole sample size to 2000, you carry out the 1000 sample, then do a second screening exercise to find your additional 50 interviews, so reducing cost (the screening plus 50 interviews being much cheaper than taking an extra 950 interviews).
