inconjurator
multiple accounts analysis (MAA): a method of systematically organizing the complete array of implications of each scenario. MAA is a tool which facilitates the comparison of impacts arising from a course of action on the social, economic and environmental well-being of a community, region, or the province as a whole.

Key points: • Multiple accounts analysis (MAA) is a system for presenting information on resource values in terms of environmental and economic acounts. • MAA’s are traditionally done twice during an LRMP process – at the beginning (base case) and at the end (assessment of LRMP recommendations package). May also be done midway to assess alternative scenarios. Are looking at ways of making economic analysis available throughout the process in smaller, more digestible pieces. • Are also looking at moving away from the traditional MAA method and more toward “net benefit analysis” which assigns $$ values to the range of LRMP values (where possible) and compares directly. • Current methods do not always capturing long term developments effectively and, in doing so, they preclude resource activities in the future (in economic terms – future possibilities are “too heavily discounted”) • Will not include these changes in the base case – will be included in scenario analysis. • The Coast Information Team will be providing the following as “value-added” to the base case: o Human spatial analysis – maps priority areas of socio-economic value o Human well-being assessment o Input-output analysis – tracks the flow of goods and services in and out of the plan area Comments: • BC needs to change the way it deals with land use issues and associated job losses. Need to take transition costs into account – if moving from one state/ economy to another people need to have options re how to get on with their lives. • Concern that using the current methods in the base case might constrain the ability to move to the new approach. Response: The information being used in the base case is adequate – the difference is in how this information is analyzed. It should not be a problem moving forward to the new methods. • Concern that currently allocation of revenues and indirect offshoots do not get into the base case. • Need to be transparent with data sources for the base case. Response: Is a principle of North Coast GTT information and analysis that sources and methods are documented and made available to LRMP participants. • Suggestion for a project to look at case studies of forest-dependent communities that have transitioned into other economies such as tourism – include examples of communities where it worked and where it didn’t work. Include reporting on what was needed re training, impact

Note from asker:
Multumesc. Definitia de pe primul link e cea potrivita pentru contextul meu. Dar aveam nevoie de un termen destul de concis si in romaneste. Oricum, clarificarea e utila! |
