ミルクラン
Please see the Japanese site below. Example of a milk run: Automotive manufacturers require suppliers to use returnable containers. Oftentimes a truck goes around picking up containers from various suppliers, and delivering containers. This is called a milk run.

The milk run refers to one truck which makes stops at several different suppliers before arriving at the customer factory. (Several suppliers\' parts are on the same truck, instead of each supplier sending a truck to the car manufacturer.) This is used especially for suppliers who do not ship enough parts each day to use up a full truckload.

Maynard Hogg
: The original term, from my Greyhound day, means "making all the stops" 鈍行(各駅停車) just as a milk truck stops at every house on its route.

: Except that Pattie's application is too steeped to auto industry practice, this is a good explanation. As for Maynard, he needs to be aware the question is about "logistics", not transportation. Nothing to do with you "Greyhound day".
