If a breach of workplace law is identified, inspectors may issue a **“breach notice”** (fix within a set time) or, for breaches of pay slip and record-keeping requirements, issue an **“infringement”** (on the spot fine) notice to an employer. In cases where the alleged breach is serious, wilful or repeat in nature, legal action may be initiated by the Workplace Ombudsman to recover entitlements and/or seek penalties via the courts if appropriate.

Για να συμπληρώσω και να ικανοποιήσω και τη Νάντια (αν και γίνονται σαφή από το κείμενο):
στην πρώτη περίπτωση δίνεται προειδοποίηση για την επανόρθωση μιας παράβασης και στη δεύτερη επιβάλλεται πρόστιμο για τετελεσμένη παράβαση. Ωστόσο, υπάρχει και η διάσταση της επιείκειας για πρώτη παράβαση, όπως δείχνει και το παρακάτω κείμενο:
Generally, if it is the first time that an employer has contravened the Regulations, the Workplace Inspector may decide not to issue an Infringement Notice and instead seek to resolve the matter with the employer and/or give the employer a formal warning in the form of a Breach Notice.

προειδοποίηση vs παράβαση/παραβίαση (επ’ αυτοφώρο ποινή/πρόστιμο)
The issue here isn't breach vs. infringement whose meanings are nearly indistinguishable, but rather "notice", which here means "warning", and "violation". At least that's the best way I can explain it: notice of violation vs automatic violation.
