Dutch to English Other IT (Information Technology) Description of call centre services
While I realise this term is usually translated as substantiate/ support within this context I would like confirmation that I am along the right lines. The sentence is part of a description of how this company prioritises calls and what that means with regards the time in which they are handled

The ST phrase is: "oplostijd binnen 8 uur na incidentregistratie, tenzij in de analyse anders is onderbouwt."
For which my best guess is "resolve within 8 hours of incident registration, unless the analysis suggests otherwise."

Any ideas? Is this ok?

Thanks everyone, I only saw this discussion after I selected the answer. I had to submit my translation before I saw what you had all put unfortunately, but the client had no queries about my "suggests otherwise" and for the purpose of the proz.com glossary I thought the less specific option was better. Had I seen it I may well have used your more specific version in my translation though Olly. Thanks again!

Unless you make a different policy decision We don't have the context, but let's say you have a report of a malfunction which is really critically urgent - read hot dangerous - and you are in the hot seat. You have the power to say that this malfunction must be resolved within, let's say, four hours instead of eight, but you will have to support that policy decision. Therefore "otherwise" or "alternative" - keeping it general - covers all your bases.

More or less time The decision could be to allocate less time rather than more time. Therefore keeping it general is probably the best solution.

More specific I think I would be more specific and say something like 'unless the results of the analysis indicate that more time is required.'
