It depends on your register, and how you translate the rest of the sentence. My assumptions here are not the only possibilities of course.
Aesthete is perfectly correct, and it is hard to find a single word or short expression that covers ´skønånd´ without sounding esoteric or dated. (I might even feel the term was slightly dated in Danish too, and then ´aesthete´ really fits well.)
