@Albena As a rule of thumb, where only general / broad context is provided, a phrase / sentence is usually rendered into the target language(s) as generally as possible. :) Then again, I wonder what else one would say after spending a night in the woods, almost freezing to death. :)

The mumbling is really terrible, but if it IS "минаване" - which makes sense, then it's better translated as "getting through", "crossing over", or something to that effect, because "we can't make it" sounds like they are on the brink of survival.
