Omani usage
I know what this means - it is the municipal department in Muscat which allocates official addresses to houses for the provision of services, delivery of mail, etc. However, does anyone happen to know what the "official" Omani English translation is? "Addressing Department", maybe?

I tried to look for the official name but found nothing on the web. the "Addressing Department" is used. Although I don't like the way it sounds very much, I think it will just do the job.

| Salloum - an interesting idea, but at http://www.alkhaleej.ae/portal/a2b0a550-4a59-4764-88e4-8350f5872c5d.aspx there is a reference to: زوان الوهيبية - نائبة مدير إدارة نظم المعلومات الجغرافية ببلدية مسقط i.e. a different department, which eminates this possibility. Thanks for trying though. |
