(a) Tool rest can be driven mechanically in longitudinal direction along the lathe body and can be driven mechanically in lateral direction along middle carriage and it can also be moved manually or rapidly. Lead screw 1 of small tool rest can be driven manually and mechanically. Middle carriage is capable of mechanical feed and manual feed.
(b) Tool rest adjustment
Lead screw of lower tool rest is open type (See Figure 7), and when clearance is too great due to wearing of lead screw and nut, bolt 1 can be fixed, so that elastic deformation of nut in radial direction occurs to eliminate clearance between lead screw and nut.
Turnplate of tool rest can be turned opposite to tool rest to cut conical objects.
