agree Becca Resnik : Good find on the resource.

neutral philgoddard : You can't ignore "for future generations" - it's important. Apart from that, I think this is the shortest and simplest solution.

You are right! I forgot to include it.

sustainable construction methods for a healthy built environment...

At the xyz fair in Wels, visitors will learn about sustainable construction methods for a healthy built environment (for future generations)

1) It’s not just homes but also office and factory buildings
2) You need to separate out the two adjectives/adverbs here. They are using sustainable methods for a healthy outcome. (The methods may well be ‘healthy’ too, i.e. safe working practices, but that’s not the issue here.)
3) ‘For future generations’ is already contained in the concept of sustainability and is therefore redundant.
4) erleben = discover, learn about, but not experience

PS
A 'sustainable building' is one that can be 'sustained'. (whatever that may mean).
'Sustainable building methods' is a different concept and refers to the responsible use of scarce resources and a move to renewables.

I think I have found your trade fair. If it is indeed about energy conservation, then I would propose this as an alternative:
how the industry is constructing a healthy and energy-efficient built environment for many generations to come
I think nachhaltig/sustainable is starting to grate on listeners/readers.

Phil suggests the following abbreviated phrasing:
At the xyz fair in Wels, visitors will discover how the industry is creating a healthy and energy-efficient built environment for generations to come
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : I like your last suggestion, except "constructing a built environment" is a tautology, and I think "creating" would be better. Also, I would leave out "many".

Thanks. Answer adapted accordingly.
neutral Chris Pr : If you don't succeed at first (or second or third)...obviously requiring some outside help here... ;) // And this - "energy-efficient built environment" - really is a non-starter formulation...// Nope, redrafting is a sign of floundering...!
3 hrs
agree TonyTK : The last one

Thanks. Draft, redraft and redraft again - it's the way most of us work.
agree Jennifer Caisley : I couldn't wrap my head around what "gesund" was doing in there until I saw this - which makes much more sense! (I'm also a perennial re-drafter - I thought we all were!)
22 hrs
agree Björn Vrooman : May not be Trump-approved--it doesn't put things first--but the Construction Week 2020 is the "UK's largest built environment event" and the ICSCMCT in 1994 defined sustainable construction as "the creation and maintenance of a healthy built environment."
