High EMC resistance is given as one of three functions in functional equipotential bonding (the other two being ensuring good signal reference potential and protection from the effects of fault currents).
What I am not clear over here is if "resistance" in this case means electrical resistance (i.e. Ohm) or if it is resistance in the sense of being impervious to changes.
