Benefit hypothesis: Proposed measurable benefit to the end user or business
they are NOT talking of some "benefit" in the sense given to it by accountants so it's not any kind of category used in accounting (rentabilité, profit, marge etc.)
Here "benefit" is used in the sense of "what do you gain from this or that feature" in practical terms i.e. what more you can do or in which way it makes seller's offer more attractive.
The same meaning of "benefit" as when talking of "benefits" for the buyer in some marketing spiel.

trying to first understand the ST is obviously not part of the modus operandi of your MT? that it's producing a little too often a linguistic crime scene instead of a translation doesn't seem to bother you excessively ...
