A good rule of thumb is to collect at least 20 parts to inspect,
preferably 25 to 30 parts if possible.
While using more parts will definitely extend the time of the study
the additional information gathered will more than make up for it.

: Stylistically, I agree — but my concern is that they are specifically talking about the TIME taken here, and I think 'peine' is too non-specific (bother, effort, etc.)

Germaine
: "plus de temps" signifie essentiellement plus de travail - ce que rend parfaitement "en vaut la peine", et à la base, "valoir la peine" a d'autres sens: https://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais/peine/59016/l...

: While the notion of 'compenser' is al least literally correct, I feel pretty sure this is not a sitaution to which it is possible or necessary to 'remédier'.

: I do not feel that "remédier" is suitable here.

Discussion
In this kind of context, the duration of the study / time factors may be crusial, and whilst they might not shya away from 'extra work', it is possible that for some technical reason, the TIME factor might be crusial.
