Stimulus discussion

Das würde ich in Anlehnung an die Bedeutung von "Impulsgespräch" (und "Impulsvortrag") (s. Links unten) spontan vorschlagen.

"Stimulating discussion" ginge mir zu sehr in richtung "angeregtes Gespräch".
Example sentence:

..advocacy partner the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) in part to plan joint 2009 advocacy goals and provide input on the stimulus discussion.

This video is a demonstration of how to facilitate a stimulus discussion. Along with the download, it explores various stimuli ideas and questions to ask in relation.

Lightning talk

Lightning talks are very short sessions (3-15 minutes, usually about 5 minutes) that are typically scheduled in a single track. This means that the entire audience of an event is in the room and explains why the talks have to be short. ….These talks provide an opportunity for people to present what they work on and for the audience to find out what is going happening in the project. …Due to their nature, lightning talks do not go very deep. This is as much a strength as it is a weakness, though, as presenters are forced to get rid of most of the content so they focus on what matters most.

Definition and format
Lightning talks are designed to be short presentations between five and ten minutes long, but are usually capped at five minutes.[4] Most conferences will allot a segment of roughly 30 to 90 minutes long to speakers. Talks are arranged one after the other during the sessions. The talks are usually given at conferences in order for the event to have many speakers discuss a multitude of topics. The conferences are held in order for individuals to be able to share their ideas and concepts to people who have experience in the specific field.[5] Lightning talks are brief which requires the speaker to make his or her point clearly and rid the presentation of non-critical information. This causes the audience to be more attentive to the speaker and gain a broader array of knowledge from the presentations given.[6]
