milled insert

an encarte is an insert in a magazine or newspaper. Fresar is usually milled but it may mean die-cut.

Note from asker:
Thanks Peter. "Milled insert" was the first option to cross my mind, but I only found loads of references to golf clubs! Die-cut does seem to fit the bill though: http://cherylpagurek.com/works/girl-prefix-photo-2004/
