I love music, but writing poems and reading are definitely my favourites.... after long hours at my computer, handwriting is absolutely relaxing! | | | Niina Lahokoski Finland Local time: 23:41 Member (2008) English to Finnish + ...
The thing that keeps me "sane" and going is horseback riding and everything around horses. Any free time left from work, horses and sleep is then divided between surfing the web (too much), reading, snacking, watching movies/documentaries/TV series, playing video/computer games... I also go to gym once a week (I'm thinking about starting to go there twice a week, but I might be too lazy...).

cooking and baking. Luckily, my husband is a great cook! Lucía, I would like to try birdwatching (not birthwatching, thank you); it would give me a good excuse to travel to different places. I used to draw before, but stopped about 6 years ago. About a year ago started drawing again after I translated a series of articles on painting.

About peeping into the hearts | Apr 3, 2009 |
This was indeed a lovely poll question. Long time that we peeped into the hearts of the Prozians. I love reading for I find that most relaxing, though I prefer the hardcopies after a day/night in front of the screen. | | | Louise Souter (X) United Kingdom Local time: 21:41 Spanish to English + ...
TRAVELLING!!! I'm addicted, it's less of a hobby, more of an obsession! | | | Samantha Payn United Kingdom Local time: 21:41 Member (2008) Russian to English + ... Making music and knitting | Apr 3, 2009 |
I replied other because at the moment playing a musical instrument (french horn, Eb bass or anglo concertina) and knitting (socks, mostly) are my main hobbies; and too much net-surfing! I do like to read but can't remember when I last picked up a book for pleasure - don't you find your hobbies go in phases, too? Weight training in the gym, boxing, girya, swimming, jogging... when I get the chance, I go hiking, horseback riding and to the shooting range. Cooking and baking is something I really enjoy - with this amount of exercise I really need the food

Sporting, strolling - Half-check. I am more into strolling than sporting. I have been a runner in the past and hope to start running again soon now that the weather has improved. Relaxing, sleeping - CHECK (I do work hard, but I love being able to sleep late (after some midnight translation) and take a refreshing nap in the afternoon) Drawing, painting - nope, but that is really for the best if you have seen my doodles. Collecting: nope - unless you count books and dictionaries Others: Knitting, sewing, gardening, pottery... I am extremely happy to have found a career in which my wide variety of interests is a distinct benefit. ▲ Collapse | | | Silvina Matheu Argentina Local time: 17:41 Member English to Spanish + ... Although I love reading, and read whenever I can, after a long day's work, watching films and listening to music are far more relaxing. Also like cooking and baking but, combined with freelancing, they make me put on weight so I seldom bake. | | | Lalit Sati India Local time: 02:11 Member (2010) English to Hindi + ...

Drawing/Painting | Apr 3, 2009 |
Although I also love computer gaming, birdwatching, movies and travelling, I consider drawing/painting to be my greatest hobby. I tried to put it aside for a few years, but now, after 5 years, I find myself painting again. This time it's about japaneese painting - simple and beautiful - I had to do it. It's so relaxing, after a working day!
