Not only have total resource additions more than replaced annual production each year, so have our by-the-bit resource additions.
We continue to grow our resource base through successful by-the-bit drilling, capture of undeveloped resources, strategic acquisitions, and increased recovery from existing fields.

On the next chart, I want to focus on our annual resource additions over the last decade. I put the additions into two categories. The green bar
represents by-the-bit, which are the resources found through wildcat drilling. The orange bar represents resources that have been previously
discovered but are either undeveloped or underdeveloped. The by-the-bit resource additions are fairly constant through time, averaged just under
1.5 oil equivalent barrels per year for the period 1996 through 2006.
