Дефиницията на Труби е следната: Тhe premise of the story is the story stated in one sentence. It is the simplest combination of character and plot and typically consists of some event that starts the action, some sense of the main character, and some sense of the outcome of the story. Въпросният premise се използва от сценарист, драматург, режисьор, и пр. за да представи идеята и сюжета на творбата пред продуцент в ЕДНО ИЗРЕЧЕНИЕ. (А като става въпрос за представяне на идеи и едно изречение, не бива да се бърка с pitch или tagline.)
От предложенията на колегите сюжетна линия предава най-точно смисъла. Другият вариант е да въведем поредната чуждица в българския език. Много от сегашните български кино драматургични термини са директни заемки от английския, примерно синопсис или трийтмънт. Как Ви звучи премис? Тук ни е нужно мнение на български драматург/сценарист който е работил и в двете системи. Аз съм запозната само с американо-британската.
