Czech term

krejčí - pánské oděvy

Czech to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion dressmaking/tailoring
Dear colleagues,

I am currently translating specialisation or field of study that appears on a final certificate: Krejčí - pánské oděvy. However, I am a little bit unsure how this could be best translated so that the translation encompasses the original meaning as much as possible. As you can imagine, the translation will be very important for the holder as this will have a direct impact on his/her application for work and future education opportunities.

I find that the term "tailor" is too limiting as it tends to encompass a very specific set of clothes tailors make. On the other hand, dress-making implies the making and alteration of women´s but not men´s clothing.

I would welcome your suggestions on the matter.

Thank you very much,

Marti

tailor - gentlemen’s clothing

Zadávateľka neuviedla, či ide o middle- class alebo high-class krajčíra. Dopĺňam termín toho drahšieho. )))
