Thank you all very much for the suggestions. Thanks to Muriel, I believe I found the correct translation: middle ear cleft (the paper talks about chronic otitis media). Would any other translator agree with me on this one? The points will go to Muriel but I think this term should only be "glossed" if at least one person agrees with me.

Still, I am a little suspicious because I four only two English-original examples via Google. (None for "auditive fissure")
