Tchaikovsky for Gopniks | Nov 3, 2021 |
Question was to what music I am listening now (= today, in 2021). Here's the result: https://youtu.be/eOlUU8l8j5M I had to make some cultural research about the term "gopnik", which can't be better expressed than by the clip above. Setting in the video does not represent Kiel, but we have similar quarters (and people) here.

Finally finished up Deltarune Chapter 2. I know, I know. It's way overdue, but I was busy and I took my sweet time playing it + hunting some secrets. After playing the whole chapter, I must say I'm a big fan of this track. It's my favorite so far in both Chapter 1 and 2 combined. Here, have a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45WeSZ_niU0

1960s British Invasion Music/Beautifully Orchestrated Duets/Broadway Tunes | Aug 4, 2022 |
Over the past couple of years, I have been listening to a lot of 1960s British Invasion (of the US) artists like Chad & Jeremy (who were actually more popular in the US) and Petula Clark, who is now close to 90, but still performing (although her voice sounds a lot deeper). Love her Downtown and Don't Sleep in the Subway. I also enjoy, to the nth degree, listening to Andrea Bocelli duets with people like the English classical singer, Sarah Brightman, esp. I like to watch the videos with the original versions of songs from West Side Story, also very beautiful, and the movie soundtrack, written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, of the 1960's classic, The Sound of Music, starring Julie Andrews.

Hi Barbara, I get nostalgic a lot these days. It's amazing that I will always remember where I heard this song for the very first time. We (parents and 4 kids) were visiting Vienna and we were at the foot of the Danube Tower (a TV tower) which has a revolving restaurant high up. We were leaving the place and I heard the song coming out of a loudspeaker. Have loved it since then (1967). Always see myself in front of that tower when I hear it. Sandie Shaw's Puppet On... Sandie Shaw's Puppet On A String (Eurovision song contest winner). It was a very positive song for me then and still is despite any of the lyrics. It's probably because of her voice and the wonderful way she sings it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga1kMdJCc_Q Barbara Cochran, MFA wrote: Over the past couple of years, I have been listening to a lot of 1960s British Invasion (of the US) artists like Chad & Jeremy (who were actually more popular in the US) and Petula Clark, who is now close to 90, but still performing (although her voice sounds a lot deeper).
